Caterpillars making webs. The adult fall webworm has a wingspan of approximately 30 mm and is generally white-colored, although some may have dark-colored marks. One generation per year emerges in the northern part of North America, with larvae appearing in late summer through early fall.
The fall webworm is considered a pest but they don’t do much damage. While they can be an eyesore in otherwise beautiful trees, they don’t have much impact on the health of the trees.
Webs can be seen in irregular shapes. They are most commonly seen in oak, boxelder, and pecan trees.
